Woolf Counseling is on a mission
Woolf Counseling, LLC is a Christian counseling practice providing hope, help, and healing for those struggling with sexual addiction, anger management, eating disorders, or troubled relationships. Begun in 2015 as Hopewell Counseling, Woolf Counseling is open to men, women, and teens, with the vision of “providing competent, biblical counseling.” Our mission is “to bring men, women, and teens into a life-transforming encounter with the Wonderful Counselor (Isaiah 9:6).” Only then will real, deep, lifelong change occur.
Woolf Counseling is unique
Woolf Counseling looks to the Bible for the principles and values for counseling. We build on that biblical foundation with the best practices in counseling today. We have chosen to focus our counseling on four critical issues in our culture: sexual addiction, anger management, eating disorders, and troubled relationships. We also provide premarital and parent training.
We are unique in that Irv has been a pastor for over 30 years and a marriage and family counselor since 2006. Elsie has been a pastor’s wife and is a marriage and family therapist. We are also unique in that we have been married for over 50 years, have three children who are Christians, and seven grandchildren who are Christians.
Finally, we are unique in that we founded and directed the National Coalition For Purity (NCFP) for nine years. God used NCFP to break the bondage of sexual immorality in the lives of over 7,000 men, women, and teens. We have a firm grasp on what it takes to break the grip of life bondages.
Woolf Counseling counsels all who need hope, help, and healing
Woolf Counseling provides counseling to individuals and couples. Our goal is to give them hope. It is our belief that with God nothing is impossible. There is no sin that the blood of Jesus cannot cleanse (1 John 1:7).
Woolf Counseling approaches counseling from a unique perspective
Our approach to counseling is short-term, solution-focused, and brief. What does all that mean? Short-term means we want to accomplish as much as possible within a short period of time, usually ten sessions. By solution-focused we mean our focus is on the future and solutions to your problem. We won’t ignore the past but the future is our chief concern. Finally, we practice brief therapy meaning we counsel for one hour each week. That’s a brief amount of time. The bulk of the healing and change happens between sessions. There will always be homework to help you achieve the changes you desire.
