We have seen the revelation of the Anti-Christ, an overview of the 7 year Great Tribulation, the building of the Tribulation Temple and the restart of the sacrifice system with the priests, peace on earth for Israel, the Satanic alliance of nations, the Satanic trinity, the Abomination of Desolation, the two witnesses, the 144,000 Jewish evangelists, and the mark of the Beast (666). We now turn our attention from earth to heaven and ask the question:
What is happening to believers in Christ who have been raptured while the Great Tribulation is happening on the earth?
A. The Return of Christ for His Bride – While Anti-Christ and the nations rage in turmoil and war upon the earth, the Church is being united in a great wedding to her bridegroom, Jesus Christ. Christ has returned to collect His betrothed bride at the Rapture. He has whisked her away from her home on the earth to be with Him forever. At the Rapture, the dead saints of all the ages are raised and instantaneously given new resurrection bodies as they ascend to meet Christ in the clouds. Living believers at the Rapture are instantaneously changed and follow their resurrected brethren to meet the Lord.
B. Resurrection Bodies – What do resurrection bodies look like and what qualities do they possess? They are the same type of body as Jesus had after His resurrection from the dead. They can eat but don’t need food for fuel. They can pass through locked doors yet they are solid enough to be touched. They can appear and disappear at will. They never age or grow sick. They are not ghosts or phantoms. They have flesh and blood but not like our human bodies. A question often asked is what age will our resurrection bodies be? I don’t know. I’d like to think we will all be about 33 years of age, the age Jesus was when He received His resurrection body but I don’t know.
C. The Wedding – Upon entering heaven, believers are escorted to the Father’s house for the formal wedding ceremony with Christ under a huppah. The huppah is the traditional Jewish wedding canopy under which the bride and groom proclaim their vows.
D. The Marriage Supper of the Lamb – Like a modern wedding reception, the marriage supper of the Lamb is a joyous time of reunion with departed loved ones. Christ’s bride, the Church, is ushered in to the marriage supper much like brides and grooms today are announced as they enter the reception hall. The marriage supper, too, is a joyous time of celebration.
What a glorious wedding that will be,
